Literature Text

I hear the world screaming, and see it in tears
Those of the homeless out on the streets, screaming in their innocent eyes
Those abused keep quiet, yet screaming on the inside
The heart-broken take cover, hearts slipping from their sleeves
The lonely knock at our hearts, our minds, our souls, but none of us listen…
(None of us care)
The shy hide beneath the bold, their thoughts shadowed and forgotten
The brave stand up, fight, then fall back down
The scream of the children, trying to stay away from this nightmare
And the opposite, screaming for life they wish they had
Screaming for time in life they need
Each scream belongs to him or her, and nothing more
The curtain unfolds just to be set up once again
At night the sorrow of the children, lonely, brave, and shy
Flow into my ear, I hear them cry.
A poem I wrote in English class a few months ago.
Just thought I'd share.
I know it's not usual that I post any of my writing, but I figured I would give it a try. I haven't really looked over it much and didn't change or edit anything.
Reason I put it up here was because my teacher claimed it could be "publishable." Hah I doubt it xD But it was very nice of her to say (:
